Spanish progressive metallers DEMONIK present a new video: “Storm”

The song promotes the current reissues of two early records, originally issued under the DEMON moniker.

According to MetalZone “we have classical thrashmetal as a basis here, but there are one or two modern influences. The vocals are very varied, the guitars bring a fat portion of groove and there are some really cool solos. “

FOXLORD / BRITON RITES / HELESTIOS news

Foxlord is a brainchild of a multi-instrumentalist Darius Gray. It was created in 2018 and has been developing its sound ever since. The influences include Dragony, Pathfinder, Emerald Sun, Dragonland, Rhapsody (of Fire and not) and many others. Gray has been using his favorite Cort x500 guitar with Behringer Vampire lx1500h, but had to learn how to play drums, bass and keyboards because of the lack of dedicated musicians in his area. Finally he had to master the craft of singing, that’s why the debut comes out after 3 years of hard work.
Helestios are Henrijs Leja (vocals/guitar); Stelios Aggelis (lead guitar); Ian den Boer (drums) and Agnis Aldiņš (bass), hailing from Latvia, Greece and Netherlands but now based around Basingstoke.
Their sound takes on board both traditional metal riffing and melodic structure as well as more aggressive and atmospheric tones, such as Agnis’ throat singing intro to Sacrifice and the Lebanese prayer intro to Return to Baalbek recorded by Henrijs in 2019 whilst mass protests against the government in the Lebanese city raged around him.
The album is non-compromising yet immediately accessible, from Sacrifice, which reflects humankind’s inability to avoid killing each other, to Black Storm, a churning sea of riffs and tales told in the ancient mythologies of Syria and Egypt to All Attack, a song written in support of the Belorussian people who have spent recent months fighting to overthrow what many see as one of the last tyrannies of Europe.
Dennis Eikenkotter of Schewemetallisch Reviews has recently conducted a video interview with Howie Bentley, the guitarist and leader of Briton Rites.

Briton Rites recently released a video for “My Will Be Thine” off their sophomore record, “Occulte Fantastique”.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5_jvwDUG4Ns
“Occulte Fantastique” was out on December 18th, 2020 via Echoes Of Crom Records.
“It’s close to Witchfinder General, but it’s our way of heavy doom metal.” says Howie, also known from a cult band Cauldron Born and as a fantasy writer.
Briton Rites 2020 also includes vocalist Phil Swanson (Seamount, Sumerlands, Vestal Claret, ex-Atlantean Kodex, ex-Hour Of 13), and the rhythm section of Corbin King (Vainglory, ex-Kinrick) and John Leeson (Cauldron Born).

Reminding you of old school metal, that just doesn’t  seem to be around anymore. The band hails from the gutters of the Mother City, Cape Town, South Africa. Bursting onto  the circuit in March of 2017 with a bombardment of relentless gigging, loudly making  themselves known on the local scene.

BRITON RITES / TIMELESS HAUNT / STRANDED WAYS news

The single off their sophomore album, “Occulte Fantastique” is a truly Satanic chant. No surprise the video consists of the scenes from cult horror movies, such as “The Devil’s Rain” (starring Ernest Borgnine, Anton Sandor La Vey and… John Travolta), “The Mephisto Waltz” (starring Alan Alda) and “Alucarda”. Due to graphic violence of the scenes, the piece is limited for adult viewers.
“Occulte Fantastique” was released on December 18th, 2020 via Echoes Of Crom Records.
“It’s close to Witchfinder General, but it’s our way of heavy doom metal.” says guitarist Howie Bentley, also known from a cult band Cauldron Born and as a fantasy writer.

Timeless Haunt formed out of the creeping morass of the Pennsylvania music scene in 2018, the five grizzled music veterans looking to create groove-oriented powerful metal music. The amalgamation of the band members’ styles has created a unique brand of heavy metal, setting them apart stylistically from most other metal bands. The release on Stormspell Records of the band’s award winning first EP “Haunted Symphony” in 2019 was met with critical acclaim. The 2021 follow-up “Dark for Life” showcases Timeless Haunt’s evolution as songwriters and has expanded the band’s worldwide fanbase.

Cthulhu stream their debut on Bandcamp. Single “Remnant Of Hate” on Youtube.

Hailing from The Netherlands, Thrash Metal re-imagined their way.
Strike with fear, in the form of the Great Old Thrasher, Cthulhu is here!
May the ripple in air burst thy very core, from a record you’ve never heard before!
The young Dutch band presents thrash mixed with heavy, sounding very American as a result.
In 2018, thrash metal band Cthulhu first came to be after several years of rehearsing and performing cover material. Material and lyrics kept on coming and became the band we have today. The formation has seen 35 shows in its first year, pre-album release, with a set of self-written material and 2 covers.
February 28th 2021, their first CD album: “Cremator of the Sky” was released, after being postponed due to the current Covid-19 lockdown in The Netherlands. It’s legitimate to say that TORN FABRIKS are a product of the Covid-19 pandemic health crisis and lockdown measurements imposed by Portuguese authorities and that still continues afflicting the entire world. A thrash metal project that became a band, they have just released TWO videos off their debut EP “Mind Consumption”.
“Bring Me Down”: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2iDIDGCz5hQ
and “Idiocracy Layers”: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aTapVrhyPFg
TORN FABRIKS released MIND CONSUMPTION on the 11th of January of 2021 via FIRECUM RECORDS.
With a very representative illustration made by Roger Esteves, MIND CONSUMPTION’s message is about the danger of being brainwashed by the tentacles of a masonic and illuminated octopus that overwhelms us with its nefarious mind controlling methods, transforming humanity as insignificant beings, evidencing the enormous inequalities between people.

Executionist is a two-piece thrash metal group from Charleston, West Virginia. The members are Brett Ash (guitars, vocals, bass) and his younger brother Tristan (drums, backing vocals). At the time of writing and recording their debut EP, “Destined For Destruction,” the brothers were 17 and 13 years old, respectively. While drawing inspiration from old school thrash bands, such as Metallica, Slayer, Kreator, and Exodus, the brothers also get a great deal of inspiration from newer bands such as Warbringer, Havok, Invicta, and Raider. The resulting blend of metal is one that has the crushing riffs of the 80’s and the melodic harmonies and leads that have gotten more popular over time. Brett’s main guitar influences include Randy Rhoads, Gary Holt, and Kyle Edissi. As for his vocals, he draws inspiration from Chuck Billy, John Kevill, and Rob Dukes. Tristan’s main drumming influences are Shareef Hassanien, Gene Hoglan and Dave Lombardo. With their EP released on January 27th of 2021, Executionist looks to continue writing music for their eventual full length release.

Dark Zodiak stands for thrilling live shows, crushing sound, direct interaction with the crowd and a perfect fusion of thrash and death metal, forged from whipping riffs, tons of drums and thunderous female growls.

In 2013, the first EP „Throwing Stones“ was released, followed by the first CD „See You in Hell“ in 2015. In 2017 they published „Landscapes of Our Soul“.
2020, the band mortar is glowing again and it’s being punched and grinded on new death lead grenades, with the intent to ignite a new, clenched explosive charge in 2021 „Ophiuchus“ and to get extreme-metal-head-hairstyles to rotate.

CARNAL AGONY: NEW SINGLE THE WITCHING HOUR OUT

If Judas Priest and hit songwriter Desmond Child had a love-child, it would undoubtedly be a hideous creature with sex appeal. Much like Carnal Agony. Hailing from northern Sweden, the band is on a mission to pick up the torches left behind by their musical heroes. Their incendiary blend of metal energy and pop melody, spiced up with classical horror themed lyrics, is now ready to be unleashed upon the world.

Building on and further expanding the musical direction of debut album ‘Preludes & Nocturnes’, the second album ‘Back from the Grave’ is already a success with critics and audiences alike. With well over 300 000 Spotify-streams in just a few months the first two singles from the album, ‘Werewolf of Steel’ and ‘Love Will Tear You Apart’, have proven Carnal Agony’s ability to write memorable melodies.

In order to let even more people discover the treasures within “Back from the Grave”, the band is now releasing one of their favorite tracks as a follow-up single.  “The Witching Hour” is the perfect example of the  foundation that the band builds their music upon and showcases  the bands Unholy Trinity of headbanging rhythms, larger-than-life choruses and irresistible scary stories to tell in the dark.

With music and lyrics by Mathias Wallin, the track was recorded at Studio Seven Sweden in Örebro by Ronny Milianowicz. “‘The Witching Hour’ is unusual for us with it’s clear influences from bands like Whitesnake, Heart or Survivor. They’re a part of my musical DNA as well and it was fun to explore that and try to infuse it with metal”, says Mathias. “And when I got the chorus melody in my head I knew I had something special going on.” Guitarist Pär-Olof Persson agrees: “The moment I heard the song for the first time I decided that we had to record a new album. I can’t wait to play this song live!” Vocalist David Johagen chose a different approach to his vocal delivery on the track. “The lyrics called for a more storytelling feeling than the other tracks. I wanted to convey the curiosity, horror and ultimately power in the character’s development and I think that you can hear it in my voice. Hopefully you’ll become afraid, disgusted and intrigued.” The Witching Hour is upon us!

“The Witching Hour” is available for streaming and digital download at all major digital services.
